In the Kherson region, a resident of Henichesk was exposed for voluntarily joining the illegal structures of the occupation administration and aiding its activities, the project “Khochu k Svoim” reports. The man has been charged in absentia under Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides liability for voluntarily holding positions in the organs of the occupation authorities.

He faces 12 to 15 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions. Before the full-scale invasion, the suspect worked as a senior inspector at the Henichesk District Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
In September 2022, he accepted the offer of the occupation administration and took the position of “deputy head of the department” in the civil defense unit. In this pseudo-position, the suspect carried out organizational, administrative, and economic functions that facilitated the occupiers’ activities in the Kherson region.
