🛡️ “A lasting peace is possible only if Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are ensured, prisoners of war, kidnapped children, and civilians are returned, and Ukraine is provided with full security guarantees through NATO and EU membership, along with the strengthening of its military capabilities,” he emphasized.
🔑 He stressed that only Ukraine itself has the right to decide its future, and Russia has no right to impose its terms.
🔄 Budrys also called for continued and increased support for Ukraine, as a strong Ukraine is the only force that can deter Russia from further aggression.
🚨 “Russia is the biggest threat to our security. It must be contained, including through international sanctions and the introduction of new ones,” the minister pointed out.
💼 He called for the adoption of the 17th EU sanctions package, which should include restrictions on Russia’s liquefied natural gas sector, Rosatom, the shadow fleet, as well as IT and banking sectors.
🌊 The minister also noted that Russia is using a shadow fleet to bypass sanctions and is creating threats to maritime security, particularly in the Baltic and North Seas.
🛠️ “We are determined to continue coordinated actions at the regional level and within the framework of the EU and NATO to counter these threats,” added Budrys.
