📢 Novikov called on the National Security and Defense Council to cancel its “shameful” and “unconstitutional” decision. He also announced that legal claims would soon be filed with the Supreme Court.
🔍 “Two weeks ago, we announced a lawsuit against President Zelensky. The sanctions were prepared so hastily that three errors were made in the text, meaning they legally didn’t come into force for three individuals, including Poroshenko. Instead of correcting it with a new decree, the text was simply replaced on the president’s website. The same happened on the NSDC and ‘Uryadovy Kurier’ websites,” the lawyer noted.
💰 According to Novikov, the State Financial Monitoring Service, which is not authorized to initiate sanctions, sent the proposal to the Ministry of Economy, and Minister Yulia Svyrydenko pressured government officials for quick approval. He also stated that Justice Minister Stefanishyna coerced her subordinates into accepting legally invalid documents.
🚨 “We are 99% sure that the State Financial Monitoring Service committed a crime. We will file a report with law enforcement agencies to investigate all the details,” Novikov emphasized.
⚠️ The lawyer stressed that, in addition to appealing in court, Poroshenko’s team will seek criminal liability for those who falsified documents and replaced official files on government websites.
🏛️ “The best solution would be for the NSDC to cancel its decision independently, without waiting for a court ruling. However, I doubt this will happen due to the political situation,” Novikov concluded.
