🔎 After six days of intense efforts, the armored vehicle was retrieved from a depth of over 4.5 meters, AP reports.
🚔 The Lithuanian military police and American investigators continue working at the scene to determine all the circumstances of the incident. However, Lithuania’s Ministry of Defense has not yet specified whether the bodies of the soldiers were inside the vehicle.
🏗️ According to Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovile Šakaliene, two M88 vehicles and two additional bulldozers were required to lift the armored vehicle, as standard equipment was insufficient.
📢 “There is no information about the soldiers at this time, but we have a clear agreement that U.S. representatives will be the first to report on this,” she stated in a comment to LRT.
⚠️ It should be recalled that the Lithuanian Armed Forces previously reported the disappearance of four American soldiers and a tracked vehicle during exercises at the Pabradė training ground.
🕊️ NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte confirmed the death of four U.S. Army soldiers in Lithuania during military exercises.
