⚖️ Ukrainian mobilization legislation provides several situations in which a deferment from military service can be granted. Here are the main grounds:
💊 Health condition – the presence of a serious illness or temporary health restrictions. The list of diseases is approved by the government.
🎓 Education and study – full-time students at universities or technical schools can obtain a deferment only for the duration of their studies. This also applies to postgraduate and doctoral students.
👨👩👧👦 Family circumstances – deferment for men who have dependents, such as minor children, individuals with disabilities, or a spouse with a disability. Also, if there are three or more minor children in the family.
🏭 Employment in strategic industries – employees working in critical sectors for the country, such as defense, healthcare, education, or agriculture, can receive a deferment. However, the employer must confirm that the employee holds a critically important position.
📄 The required documents for each of these grounds are as follows:
– For health deferment – a medical certificate. – For students, postgraduates, and doctoral students – a certificate from the educational institution. – For family circumstances – birth certificates of children and disability certificates for dependents. – For employees in strategic industries – a certificate from the employer and an extract from the work record book.
📝 To apply for a deferment, you need to contact the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center with the appropriate application. You will need your passport, military ID, and the necessary documents.
🩺 If the deferment is based on health, you must undergo additional medical examination as directed by the TCC.
✅ After reviewing the documents and medical findings, the TCC will make a decision on granting or denying the deferment.
